POLICE COURT.
FRIDAY, JANUARY 26.
[Before Messrs F. Pavitt and T. Me--Indoe, J.P.’s] A ' short siting of the Police Court was held yesterday morning, before Justices Pavitt and Mclndoe, when James Huff, William McCord, and Frauk Kearns were charged, on the information of Constable Wild, with threatening behaviourwith. intent to commit a breadr“'“of the peace in Whitaker-street, on the 20: h ingtant. Huff and McCord/ acknowledged the offence, while Kearns pleadecf-rnbt guilty. . Constable Wild detailed ihe circumstances of the case in a graphic manner, and the evidence of J. W. Battei&i J. Rennick, and P. Baine taken. The accused were convicted and each, fined 10s with costs 9s, or in default 48 hours’ imprisonment. The fine was paid in each case. Iu delivering judgment Mr spoke a few words to the which doubtless will be taken by them, and should prove benenSml in future.
