DANTE, THE CONJURER.

Frank Dante, brother of the late 1 Danto tho Great,’ was associated with his brother in all his experiments in tho magic art, and as a matter of fact, the chief illusions of tho deceased were the work of the inactive brain of Frank Danto. Dante is said to be a simple marvel, for not only does be deceive cleverly but with an artistic management that is quite captivating. Everything about the en ertaiumont is clean and pretty, oven to the costumes worn by the assistants, with aMiintily arranged French stage, and the tricks, up to dato. In addition to his sleight-of-hand tricks, which are simply astonishing, Dante introduces quite a number of illusions that simply border on the marvellous. He is assisted by a beautiful lady, Mile. Edmunda (‘ Dante the Great’s ’ widow), who is one of the principal factors in the illusions. Perhaps tho mosr astonishing illusion the great conjurer will introduce is ‘ The Beggar’s Dream,’ which is quite startling in its effect, and consists in transforming a beggar woman into a richly-attired lady, then setting fire to her dress, and a second later all that remains of her is a skull and charred bones. How the changes are effected is beyond conception, for they take place on a table in the middle of the stage. Dante appears at the Town'Hall on Wednesday next, 17th inst., and the management may rest assured that his appearance in Te Aroha will be just as successful as Dante has enjoyed all along the lin •.
