RAILWAY STATION BURNED.

Wellington, Saturday, The Railway Department is advised that the railway station, railway refreshment rooms and the Post Office at Clinton were destroyed by fire last night. The property was insured for £ 6 °°. Mr Geddes, ewner of the refreshment rooms, succeeded in getting the best part of the furniture out, but next to nothing was saved from the Post Office or railway station. All the local mails in the Post Office were burned. Twelve bags of mails which arrived by the night wore saved. The Postal Department report that the books and accounts of the Clinton Post Office were saved, also registered letters.
