Domain Board .
TnE monthly meetiug of the Board was held on Wednesday night, when there were present: Corns Gavin (in the chair), Knock, Gallagher and. Bygrave. Insurance New Bath-house. —Mr Gilchrist, agent N.Z. C 0.,. wrote that his Compand could not insure- for a less premium than 15s 8d per cent. The Board' thought this i-ate was excessive, and was iocliued to make enquiries from other companies as to whether it could not be done for less . Com Gallagher thought the building should be insured at once. He fouud a lamp burning in one of the rooms one moruiug, having been left aiight all night. Ruder the circumstances, he thought it was too risky to remain uninsured, and moved that the building be immediately insured for , £SQO The Chairman aud Com Knock thought the sum should be £IOOO, and Com Gallagher ultimately accepted the' suggestion, and moved accordingly. The motion was carried unanimously. ' ; - New Pump for, Octagon. Cora Knock.having undertaken some months ago to see to this, reported that the pump had now come to hand, but proved to be most unsuitable, the maker being evidently unaware that it was intended to be used for hot water. The pump was returned, and as . the matter of adjustment might prove troublesome, it was, in .'dew of possible changes in the personnel of the Board, unanimously decided, that the Board should endorse the action taken by Com Knock. Supplies. —■ The Chairman gavo notice that at' next monthly meeting of the Board, the question of submitting supplies to public tender bo considered*.... Finances.—‘The Clerk submitted the following statement of the Board’s financial position : -Credit balance from last month, £224'6s 3d; receipts : baths £4B 3s 4d ; towels £7 7s 6d; library £1 ;■ tennis Is. Tot&l £2BO 18s Id, less, accounts .owing £59 18s 4d; credit balance at date £221 19s 9d. Accounts following accounts Were passed for payment Caretakers L2B 10s ; J. B. Johnson L 4 17s ; Whitten 7sSimpson L2 lis; Green L 3 13s 6d; Wright L2 9s; Snewin and;Co. L4ss 2d ; Times Ll 0s 6d ; Currie L l 18s; Johnson Lit 5s 7d; Thomas? L 8 Is 7d. •
TOWN BOARD. Tenders for Pipes.—The following • tenders were received for the supply . of 200 12 inch glazed clay socket * pipes : J. Lavery L 32 10s ; P. Snewiu,' and Co. L2B 10s. The latter tender was accepted. , •’ VALEDICTORY. At the conclusion of the business the chairman said he would like to take the opportunity of thanking the membersof both Boards for the assistance they had given him. There had frequently been heated discussions ’ but he was pleased to say their differences had never been carried outside. He hoped'the new Board would be similarly undivided, "agjfc. that they . would press forward the'-foest interests of the place.
