T.R V. Company drill in the Public Hall on Friday evening. The .officers of the local corps are making themselves efficient in the use of’the revolvers recently issued to them by the Government. ' The following team has been selected to represent the Te Aroha Rifles in the competition for Mr Bastings’ prisg> which takes place at Paeroa on Saturday next, 2nd inst. This event is creating some excitement in volunteer circles in the Hauraki district, each of the corps, we understand, are sending a squad to try and appropriate the coveted prize Sergt. Salmon, Yols. Strange (3), Cochrane, Comes, Hirst, Mikkeke > Summers, Forrest, Kerr, Salmon and Corp. J. Maingay.j
