The Minister of Lands and Mr Rollestom.
The Minister of Lands publishes the following. letter, addressed to the editor of the Christchurch Press : “ Sir,—Mr Rolleaton evades the point. He may think it fair political tactics to seek to injure me as a public man, and the Government of which I am & member/by vague insinuations of statements that have been over / and. over again disproved. With this sort of thing my challenge has nothing whatever to do. It is, however, quite another matter when, liy vague insinuations, ne.imputes tomy sonb, who are not public men, a crime or worse, in connection with Bushy Park. It was to this my challenge referred, as the reports of my remarks in both, the Press and Times clearly show,' and I again ask him to abandon generalities and state: in plain and specific terms what it is he accuses them of. If he does this, he shall have ample opportunity of proving it I have no desire to gag him. All I want i? that my sobs; whose personal honor is concerned, should be given a - fair chance to vindicate themselves.—l am, etc., John McKenzie,” ' f
