Mobrrinsville Cricket Club Concert.
Amos t enjoyable- concert was given by the- Morriusville Cricket Club in the ae.w schoolroom on Friday, ©versing. In the unavoidable absence of the President of the Club ( Mr Her ries, M.BLB), who was attending Ja meat-' ; iog/at Rotorua,.- the chair was taken by Mr J. C. Allen, who gave a short account of the dub during the year; - Momnaville hae played ten matches* won five and lost five. Messrs Papesch, Schofield and JT," C. Allen have the highest batting averages - while Mr- ; Neele has the best bowling analysis. ; The Club Sa greatly indebted to Mis& Butcher for her kindness in keeping the, score bonk, and also to Mrs; Nelson for lending her ptane for the* concert. ... •» Of the various performers who so* kindly lent their aid it is difficult to. .< select the best ; l£ra Scholium sang ! ‘Daddy ’ with great effect and pathos,, and got a well deserved encore. This.* is the first time Mrs Scholium has sung at Morriusville. but we hope : to> hear her often in the. future. Miss Butcher sang ‘The Mirropin a charming manner, and received an encore*. Mr i Nelson’s recitations ‘ The Last Shot,’ and ‘ Kissing Cup’s Race,’wera excelently given. Miss Grace Roberta, who has a very sweet voice, sang ‘listening,’ remarkably well, but wastoo modest 10 come back and give an * encore ; while Mr SeholSald fairlybrought down the house with his song ‘ The F.-l-y Jane,’giving for an encore * Old King Cole,’ Miss Roberts, kindly played the accompaniments.
