At this time of war, when any dUy may bring tidings of a naval engagement between the battle-ships of America and Spain, some of the historic naval encounters of by-gone days come vividly to mind. Conspicuousamong them, stands out the memorable battle of Trafalgar, when the brave Lord Nelson received his mortal wound, on the deck of the ‘H.M.S. Victory/ A very fine series of lime light views of this exciting encounter will be shown by Dr Hosking, on Monday evening 'next, at the Anniver-j sary Festival at the Public Hall, T<i Aroha ; when the martial and soulStirring song, ‘The Death of Nelson,” will be sung by Mr Hilton, of Karangahake. Mr Hilton will also sing ‘ TheHdy City,’ of which graphic illustrations will be given ; and other favorite songs will be sung and illustrate&yThe entertainment will comprise a most realistic tour through some of the choicest scenery of England, Ireland and Scotland ; together with: thrilling narratives illustrated by life - model pictures. The younger folk will not be forgotten, but will fee introduced to ‘ Robinson Crusoe.’ ‘ Androcles and the Lion,’and other graphic and humorous sketches.
