Italian Deputy Killed in a Duel .
Signor Cavoleoti, the well-known Italian Deputy* was killed in a duel which he fought on Sunday afternoon with Signor MacoJa, another Deputy and editor of the ‘ Gazette di Venezia.’ The encounter was the outcome of a Press polemic. The weapons used were broadswords. After the word bad been given to take guard, Signor Cavalloti vigorously attacked his opponent. Neither of the duellists* however* was wounded during the first engagement. After a few moments' rest the combatants engaged for the second time. At this stage of the combat the seconds thought. Signor Cavalloti bad been wouivled, but as a matter of fact he had not b°e» touched. During the third engagement be received a thrust in the throat, which severed the jugular vein. At first it was believed he bad been only slightly injured, but the serious nature of the case was very soon perceived. The deputy put his hand to his mouth and when he withdrew it it was covered with blood. He could not utter a word* and died within ten minutes.
