Probable Visit of the Hon J. McKenzie to Te Aroha,
W hen Mr Seddon was in Te Aroha at Easter, he mentioned to some friends that the Hon the Minister for Lands would shortly visit the Waikato, and in all probability, Te Aroha. and suggested that an effort should be made to get him to address a public meeting when here. An idea, which may soon be chrystalised into actual fact,, is, that the hon gentleman be asked to fix the date of his visit on 24th May, aud that day being a public holiday, advantage could be taken to have
formal opening of the now Private Bath-house, accompanied by something in the shape of a demonstration and sports, concluding with the public meeting at night. The Domain, being controlled by the Lands Department, of which Mr McKenzie is chief, the idea of getting him to perform the opening ceremony is eminently iu keeping with * the fitness of things.’ At the same time, we would certainly like to see ,Mr Cadman present on that auspicious occasion, as it is mainly due to his persistent efforts in the best interests of Te Aroha, that the splendid building has been erected. We understand Mr Gavin is communicating with these two gentlemen, and hope that arrangements .will be made which will enable matters to be carried out on the lines indicated.
