Te Aroha Jockey Club.
On Friiay evening last a meeting stewards of the Te Aroha Jockey C was held in the Domain office, sent: Messrs W. H. Herries (ck man), Gavin, Hodgson, Edwai Pavitt, Smardon, Ferguson, Bren Mills, Hartneady and Gotz. Ti minutes of the previous meeting wer. read and confirmed. The balancesheet up to March 30fch was also read and passed. The Chairman moved and Mr Gavin seconded, that all accounts incurred during the year be paid. Carried. It was decided to accept Mr Hank’s offer to plough and sow the saddling paddock for the sum of £3, under the supervision of the Works Committee. The Secretary was instructed to write to horse owners requesting .payment of unpaid fees, also to Secretary of Ohinemuri Jockey Club, requesting payment of fees due by an owner, as they had become guarantees for the amount. All amounts to be paid within a month, or the defaulters names would be placed on tbe forfeit list. It was resolved to pay lOs ia the £ on all old accounts, and tbe balance would be paid as the money due to the Club came to hand. Mr Spooner’s account was left in the hands of Mr Edwards to make the best arrangements he could. All as read, were passed for payment. The secretary was authorised to write to various totalisator agents and ascertain on what terms the Joan of £l5O would be renewed. It was resolved te send a letter to* Mr Hanks expressing the appreciationof members of the Club of ms efforts*, in putting the course in the order it is. A vote of thanks to the Chairman,, and also to the secretary, Mr .P. Snewin, for the suceess of the meetings terminated the business.
