Presbyterian Church.

A. MEETING of the Committeo of the Te Aroha Presbyterian Church, was held iu the Public Hall on Tuesday, when there was a good attendance, Captain McKenzie occupying the chair. In view of the early departure for the south of Mr Wright (who is at present in charge of the district), the question of getting a successor was discussed. It was. ultimately decided to arrange for the temporary engagement of Rev Mr Wall, late of Ngaruawahia, who it will be remembered, officiated with much acceptance immediately prior to the arrival of Mr Wright. The matter of building a church was then dealt with, and in this connection, a very pleasing announcement was made. This was, that a lady friend, who desired to remain anonymous, had generously offered the committee the use of £IOO free of all interest, and allowed them 10 years in which to repay the sum advanced. Needless to say the offer was gladly accepted, as it put the Committee in a position to arrange for the erection of a building in which the denominational services, and meetings could be held. It was decided that a building should be erected on the section recently purchased by the body, in Whitaker-street, between Bridge and Burgess-streets, and that tenders be called immediately for a building completely furnished, capable of seating 200 people, at a maximum cost of £2OO, competitive designs, to accompany each tender.
