Shooting in connection withthe an'nual meeting of the Auckland Riflo Association was resumed on Saturday, at the Mount Eden Range. To enable the Paeroa and Te Aroha competitors'to leave for their homes that evening, the committee decided to allow them to fire the competitions they were entered for in the forenoon. Notwithstanding the unfavourable state of the weather, for-it-was blowing hard and raining heavily at times, they all acquitted themselves creditably, and ' made good scores. Cornes and Hobbs ' both took prizes in the Citizens’, and Maingay in the Avondale Match. A start was made-in the afternoon with * : the 300yds range of the Star Cup. Willis and. Nutt made 30; ' Doughty, and Potter 29 ; and Maingay, Cornes, and Ooulson 28 each.. With seven shots at 600yds to com- . plete, the leading, aggregates stand n Doughty 50 ;■ Maingiay 58; Gardner $5; Bollard's 4; Cox 53 ; Skinner and Coulson 40 each. Maingay, who fired his-600yds in the-forenoon,'put on 25/ thus makiug- Itia. -aggregate,B3; and- i as tnere are 1:0 money/prizes, he is. / certain to be among the prize winners.'
