TE AKOHA RIFLES. At the animal meeting of the Te Aroha Rifle Volunteers held on Tuesday evening last, the following balance sheets, and statement were read and adopted Receipts— To Cash received from honorary and enrolled members £27 8s fid ; sale of ammunition, etc,, £26 Is 4d. Total £54 9s lOd. * Expenditure. Capt. Cochrane’s statement £2 7s 9d ; cash expended in shooting prizes and expenses of shooting to Thames £3 11s; purchase of swbfd"£l 17s 6d; telegrams, stationary, stamps,-books, clercl&l expenses and sundries 9s 9d ; balr ance in hand (cash and LGYJ.’s) £3 2s 7d ; Balance in Bank £34 fls LOd. Total £54 9s lOd. Company’s statement as read showed the amount of cash in hand, after paying all accounts, amounts to £22 16s 2d. ’ ' ’ The fir* t church parade in conneon tion with the Paeroa Volunteer Com ’ pany took place on Sunday morning, when there was a fair muster present under Captain Fergusson. The men fell in in front of the Criterion Hotel, and headed by the Paeroa Brass Band, marched down Cassrels : street, and up Normandy Road, and thence to St s Paul’s Church. The Rjv W. H. Wilson (Chaplain of the corps) held divine service, the text t.f his discourse being appropriate to the occasion. After church the men again fo’l in, and marched four-deep, to the inspiriting strains of MvTrussePs now march, 1 Paeroa,’ as far as the foot of Belmont Road, where they were dismissed. The company presented a fine soldierly appearance on parade, the men looking remarkably well in their broadbrimmed sombreros and brown uniforinsr , •
