School Committee .

Tite monthly meeting of the. local School Committee was held in the school room on Monday night, when there were present —Messrs Gilchrist (Chairman), Mackay, Wal ace, McFarland, and Hill (secretary). The - Secretary . was instructed to write to the Board pointing out the urgency for the repairs to the school fence and ground being undertaken. The Education Board notified that Master Frank A. Harris had been awarded a certificate of proficiency in connection with the > late annual examination for junior district scholarships. Circulars were received from the the various candidates for the three vacant seats on the Board of Education. and after a brief discussion theCommittee decided to vote for Messrs Luke, Farrell, and Bagnall, . Messrs Wallace and Hill were appointed a visiting committee for the ensuing month, and it was remitted to. then to report on the probable cos of giving effect to an application from Mr Marsdon for the improved method of hanging the blackboards in two of the rooms. The Secretary Was instructed to, procure the most needful of the stationary applied for, by the headteachpr.
