[By IC.R.]; The Art of putting on-a Veil,—The> art of putting on a veil gracefully and becomingly is one that should bo- assiduously practiced by every woman, 1 It is impossible to get' a good effect with a stiff veil, it must be a soft silk net. You must have the veil long 1 and! broad enough’ in the first instance, Place the centre of the veil to the* front of the brim, about five inches; down,, and gather Jt up at each sideand tie at the to.p of the brim at I 'the. back. After a little practice it will* fall -naturally into shape at once,, then ‘ sort * it on the brim, fixing here. ; and there with-little fancy headed pins,' if necessary, .though if the veil is soft, there will not be any required. Damp. Clothes-—Damp, skirts • and' damp shoes whioh have been worn in dewy grass or rainy days should becarefully dried and brushed after theyare taken off. It is difficult for anyone to be certain when every portion of a freshly ironed garment is properly' dried, and in order to' be ofi the safa side time should be allowed. Cloth in goften gathers some dampnesa in the. summer while lying in the draws, oven when it is put a,way dry. It should be taken out and put in some sunnycorner to air..
