LODGE TE AROHAyNO. 52, N.Z.C.

The annual .meeting of Lodge Te Arolia, No. 52, N.Z C., was held in the Freemasons’ Hall; Bridge-street, on Thursday evening last, at which there was a, good assembly of members and including . Acting Grand Master (Brq.rFowlds) and several rulers of the‘craft from other parts,' of tho Auckland district. The feature of the evening was the installation of Officers for the ensuing year, and this beautiful ceremony, was performed by the Acting Granud in a most impressive manner.* Bro J. S. Bond, P.M., of Alpha Lodge, Cambridge, was the presentingofficer ; the working tools in the varfitfe degrees were •■presented by the Deputy Grand Master and Bro* Rev T. A. Jonghln; the address to the Warden’s was ably delivered by Bro. Chas. -Pyne, F.Mi ; and the following brethren were duly invested and installed \ —W.M., Bro. F. Pavitt, P.M. ; 1.P.M., Bro: Rev T. A. Joughiu; S.W., Bro H. R. BeU; J;W.. Bro. J. Mi Bell; Chaplain, Bro. Rev F. G. Evans Bro. D. McL. Wallace ; .*Secretary, Bro. P. Gilchrist; S D., Bro. Anderson ; J.D., Bro. H. Clifford ; Organist, Bro. j. T. Maingay; 1.G., Bro. C. Cribb; Tyler, Bro. J. Frazer. After the ordinary routine buf-iuese was disposed of, the Lodgd'-was closed according to usual custom, and the brethren retired for refreshments, which wei;e laid out in the Lodge room, where a convivial hour was spent The feature of that hour being the able address of the Doputy Grand Master, setting forth the present position of Freemasonary in New Zealand in relation to the burning question of recognition. The usual- loyal and masonic toasts were responded to in a hearty manjigr as is tho custom with the brethren of the ‘‘Mystic Tie,” and the gathering broke up at an early hour.
