Sni, —I must admit that I was a little astonished to hear that the filling in of Bridge-street, and forming of back streets contract had been completed, passed, and money paid over at last "meeting of Town Board .j* I would ask the feoard of Works if the same has been carried out under their supervision? If so, I think the sooner that they resign it will be : very much to the advantage of the ratepayers. Without exception, this is the most disgraceful piece of work that has ever been done in the district, and that is saying .a great deal. Just let any disinterested party take a walk round the back streets and see the beautiful state that they are left in which our local Board of Works have passed as being finished in a workman like manner.— I am, -etc.,'v. • , , Batepayer,
