The arrangements for the Show had been made by the Committee of the Society -assisted 'by :a strong .committee of . ladies as follows : * - Misses Gibbons, Gabolinecy, Roberts, Stevens, Wild, worthy, Beeson, B. LaveryiTayitt, Reynolds, Rowe, HotchinjVandtMrsMai’sden. During the evening the Te Aroha Band enlivened proceedings with sev ral selections which were much appreciated. .One of the attractions of the evening was the various competitions. BOOT CLEANING FOR BOYS. This had to he performed on the stage before the audience and aff «rded some amusement, v There were three entered, Frvd Copeland, Percy Muingay and Nelsonorder numed; ;s BbTATd pe&ling for girls. There were four entered for this event;, The-first prize being won by Eva Allen, and the 2nd by Annie Craig. POTATO PEALING FOR BOYS. ‘ * This event cause 1 much fun, there were five entries. Ist- E. B ker; 2nd. T. Ga.holinsey. , The committee are to be congratulated upon the success of the venure. The public'shb wed their 1 appreciation of the movement by attending in such large numbers, the hall being crowded until 10 o’clock in the evening. It is to be hoped that this show will be the forerunner of many similar exhibitions in the future.
