useful information on the position of
the colony. In advocating the attractions of Rotorua, twenty-four pages and two engravings are employed, while Te Aroha only receives one and a half. Te Aroha is made to keep in the back-ground, while Rotorua is well advertised. Referring to the output of gold from the colony for the year, ending, March, 1895, it is shown to be a decrease of £17,721 less than that of last year. The West Coast : and Otago, being principally responsible for the decline, their output being £8512 and £13,915 less than last year. Auckland is 'the only provincial district which has an increase, which is £5602 in advance of 1894. It also refers hopefully to the arrangem'ents which have been made with an English Company to sink,a. shaft of 2,000 ft. at the Thames, for the purpose of fully testing our deep levels. The total output of gold from the •colony is £222,981.
