ATTITUDE OF THE SULTAN MASSACRE OF ARMENIANS v London, October 15. Reports irom Constantinople states that the Sultan is more favourably disposed to give way, and it is believed that the reforms will be speedily accepted. - * October 16. / A thousand Christian notables of Crete have taken up arihs and retreated to the mountains in order to avoid arrest. They threaten to raise a rebellion. Fifty Armenians have been massacred at-Akhessas. The prevalent discontent amongst Moslems of Constantinople is alaryaing the Sultan.
