(to the Editor.} * Sm,—Kindly permit me in your columns to call the attention of the Domain Board and your readers generally, to the unnecessarily long.hours the caretakers are at present called on to bo at their posts, i. 0.,: from 6.30 aim., to 10.30 p.m. t or as a matter of fact till 11 p rn., 16£ hours daily, Sundays and. week-days ! Why, it would fag the patient heathen “ Chinee ”, and ho, is said to be the most enduring specimen of the genus homo. Would any oc our Every-stable keepers s;hink of keeping a horse harnessed for 16£ hours for one day in the week, not to say seven; if he would he would reduce him to the sorryest of screws, not to mention that he would be likely to receive a call from Constable Wild, to remind there is a Martin’s Act on the Statute Book, but it does not apply to bi-peds. I contend that attendance from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on week days, and 5 hours on Sundays would not inconvenience the frequenters of the baths and r mding-room in the least. A lot more cogent arguments could be adduced for shortening the hours, but respect for your space makes me Cry, hold, enough.— lam, etc.,
