THE CLYDESDALE STALLION, DUKE OF ALBANY, WILL Stand at Meadowbank tins Season. . SERVICE, £2. Grazing Free. All care taken, but no responibility. T. BRADLEY, . Medowbank, TO TRAVEL THIS SEASON IN TE AROHA, PAEItOA, & THAMES DISTRICTS. The Celebrated Trotting Stallion BALDERDASH. Balderdash is by Rouser from Miscbi -f (one of the beat trotters New Zealand has produced, and whose victories on. the track in Wanganiii, Oliristch'ircli, and Dunedin arp too well known to need comment). BaldebdasH is a dark, dapple chestnut, possessing rare b me and muscle, with the very best of action; and beautiful temper, As a performer be has shown that for style and speed he has few equa s, having in one day on the New Brighton course won the Maiden Trot (two miles), and the Three-mile Saddle Trot, finishing up by running second in a field of sixteen in the Two-mile Trot. At the Rangiora Autumn Meeting he won the Two-mi e Trot, arid at the Christchurch Show he was winning the Two-mile Trot easy when his girth broke and he was puled up. In March,/ 1892, at the Onslow Trotting Club’s meeting, though just having finished a big season at the stud, and only trained about a fortnight, he ran unplaced in the Threemile Saddle Trot, but finished a good second in the Wheel Race front scratch after getting badly away. la March, 1894, at the Otahulm Trotting Club’s meeting, he won the Two mile Harness Trot easy, In the Show Ring he has taken First Pi ze every time that he has been shown, last time (1893) winning the special prize cup and beating the Ebglish horse Perfection (imp), winner of over 20 first and champion prizes, and never before, beaten. He has also been twice, second and once highly commended for carriage sire BalderpashV dam Mischief by Young Diomedes, sire of Victor (who has a Threemile record in the saddle of 8 min 11 sec.) out of The Widow (imp ,) Norfolk Trotter. Besides having gained a number of prizes as a- carriage mare, she has produced a number of fast horses, among them being Moonlight, who left the colony, holding the record then of 8 min 8 see, and Spider who at present holds the threc-''mile saddle r- cord for New Zealand of 7 min 59 sees. Rouser, by Messenger (imp.) from Kate O’Shane,-is one of the most successful sires of; jumping and trotting horses in Canterbury., He is also.full brother to Tam O’Shan ter, a horse that holds more first prizes for getting carriages horses than any horse in New Zealand, Baldebdash’s young stock have already won several trotting races in Canterbury, one of them (Stockholm) putting the two mileß behind her in 5 min 27 see. It will thus be seen that Balderdash, both from breeding and performances, possesses rare credentials to recommend Sim to the use of breeders of roadsters, hunting or carriage stock of any kind. The dates nnd places will be duly advertised in a future issue. Terms. —Single Mares, £3 ; two or ore, the property of one owner or one uson responsible, as per agreement, ood Paddocks.
