MONTHLY MEETING. The ordinary monthly meeting of the above . Board was held in the Domain Building on 'Saturday last, the I.4th Qoni Gavin, in the chair, and all membors present, The, minutes of the previous meeting were i-ead/aud confirmed., ■' Correspondence. The outward Correspondence was read and approved .of- , V Inward/ correspondence —From ; J. Be w,'' asking for permission to remove narth from BurgessrStreet, for the cornpletion of . his Bridge-Street contract. (jomHotcliin moved, and Com Bradley seconded, that, he be allowed to remove earth as directed by the Works Committee. -Carried. :. - *
From Mr • Henries, m bad state of Thompson’s Track and the urisatisfac- . tory way-in #hich the work was being carried on. Coin Bradley moved, and {Com Cadm'an be urged to get a further sum. placed on the Estimates for the completion of the work. ; Carried. • > ! From Mr T. G. Bell and a number of residents at the South end of the town, asking that a ; lamp be placed near the South-wost corner of the - Domains; g Gqm Hetherington moved, and Com ;Bindley seconded, the request bohranted. —Carried. From tne Postal Department, stating that the population of Te Aroha.; is hot sufficient to Warrant a postal delivery.. It was resolved that the Clerk should write to Hon Cadman, calling Ms : attention; to the matter. Royceoit’s Contract.—Com Gavin drew the attention of the Board to the fact that the contract had not been carried out. Com Hotchin said that the metal had been broken and he asked Com'Hetherington to go with him to measure it but he would not .go, consequently the m.etal is lying in Mr Roycroft’s paddock now. .-, v Com Hetherington paid his reason for not’going to measure the . was that he intended to resign, his position on the "Works Committee. Com Hetherington then resigned his office as a member of the Works Committee. Com Gavin moved, and Com Bradley seconded, that his resignation be accepted.—^Carried. Com Hetherington moved, and Com Gavin seconded, that the Chairman continue correspondence with Mr' Mueller, Commissioner of CroWn Lands, re the Town Board gravel pit,. Carried. , ' ; Com Hetherington proposed, and Com Gavin seconded, that . Cora Bradley be appointed to the Works Committee. v’ , ' ; i L As Mr SnOwm-Vt'eriT** of office as. poundkeeper will expire in a fortnight, it was resolved that tenders -be called; for the position of poundkceper for 12 months, and that a special meeting of the Board be held on the 28th to io T Ceive the tenders. .■
