THAMES DEEP LEVELS.
QUEEN OF BEAUTY PROPERTY.
MACHINERY ORDERED We are glad .to be in a position to state that all negotiations with regard to the Queen of Beauty and Deep Sinker mines at the Thames have been ai'ranged and completed between the London purchas 3rs and the local vendors, and tho solicitors of the London purchasers in Auckland are now prepared to take over an assignment of the property on behalf of their clients. The working capital is £120,000. A- list of the machinery already ordered has been forwarded to the Auckland shareholders, with the intimation that tenders have already been called for its supply. This machinery —pumping and winding plant—is subject to the approval of the AgentGeneral, and it is c dculated to be sufficient for carrying o.i mining operations to a depth of 300 feet. No time will be lost in getting out the machinery, and it is expected to be in full operation in the early part of next year. The prompt action takenat home has given the greatest satisfac ion to the shareholders here. This being the first great and practical project for developing the deep levels at the Thames goldfields, the operations of the new company will be watched with intense interest not only here but elsewhere. The want of capital has prevented the exploration of the low levels of the , Thames beyond a depth of 500 or 600 feet. There is lit! e doubt that the siluation of the Queen of Beauty is the most favourable for deep level explorations. ' It is situated so as to command the greatest concentration of lodes, and ..in its area gold has been carried to tbe greatest depth yet.explored. With suitable machinery such as that which-has ordered, and witli capital sufficient ito carry on operations, the prospecting of the deep levels of the Thames is guaranteed. Future developments may be looked forward to hopefully, and there is every probability that the hopes of those who look forward to the opening of an entirely new goldfield in the deep levels will be ful-filled—-Herald.
