TO TRAVEL THIS SEASON IN TE AIIOHA, PA Elio A, & THAMhS DISTRICTS. The Cell brited Trotting Stallion BAIDEROASH. Balderdash is bv Rouser from Mischi f (one of the beat trotters New Zealand has produced, and whose victories on the track in Wanganui, Christchurch, and Dunedin are too w-11 known to need comment). Balderdash is a dark, dapple chestnut, possessing rare bone and muscle, with the very best of action, and beautiful temper, As a performer he has shown that for style and speed he lias few qua s, having in one day on the New •Brighton course won the Maiden Trot (two tnilcs), and the Three-mile Saddle Trot, finishing up by running second in a field of sixteen in the“ Two tnde Trot. At ibe Rangiora Autumn Meeting he won the Two-mi e Trot, and at the Christchurch Show he was winning the Twoauiile Trot easy when hi-* girth broke and he was pu'led up. In March, 1892, at the Onslow Trotting Club’s meeting, though just having finished a big season at the stud, and only trained about a fortnight, he ran unplaced in the Threemile Saddle Trot, but finished a go *d second in the Wheel ’Race from scratch after getting badly away. In March, 1894, at the Otahuhu Trotting Club’s meetiDg, he won the Two mile Harness' Trot easy, In tho Show Ring lie has taken First Prize every time that he has been shown, last time (1893) winning the special prize cup and beating the English horse Perfection (imp), winner of over 20 first and champion prizes, and never before beaten. He has also been twice second end once highly commended for carriage sire. Balderdash’s dam Mischief by Young Didmedes, sire of Victor (who has a Threemile record in the saddle of 8 min 11 sec.) out of The Widow (imp ,) Norfolk Trotter. Besides huving gained a number of prizes as a carriage mare, she has produced a number of fast horses, among them being Moonlight, who left the colony, holding the record then of 8 min 8 s c, and Spider who at present holds the threo-milc saddle r cord for New Zealand of 7 min 59 sees. Rouser, by Messenger (imp.) from Kate O’Sliane, is one of the most successful sires of jumping and trotting horses in Canterbury, He is also full brother to Tain O’Shanter, a horse that holds more first prizes for getting carriages horses than any horse in Now Zealand. Balderdash’s young stock have already won several trotting races in Canterbury, one of them (Stockholm) putting the two miles behind her in 5 utin 27 sec. •It will thus he seen that Balderdash, both from breeding and performances, poss-sses rare credentials to recommend him to the use of breeders of roadsters, hunting or carriage stock of any kind. The dales and places will be duly ad vertised in a future issue. Terms.—Singi; Mues, £3; two or more; the property of one own«r or one person responsible, as per agre. inent. Good Paddocks.
