WAITOA ELECTION.
PIAKO COUNTY COUNCIL The election of a member for the Waitoa Biding, Piako County Council, took place yesterday. The tw.o candidates being Mr W. S. Allen, of Annandale, and Mr B. Stark, of Walton. The polling places were Waihou and Morrinsville, Mr F. Pavitt being Beturning officer for the former and Mr Bremnerfor the latter place. On account of the unusually wet day very few votes were-jeeorded, and comparatively little interest was tiken in the contest. At Waihou 27 votes were recorded, Mr Allen obtaining 23 and Mr Stark 4.
It was a foregone conclusion that Mr Allen would, be returned by a large majority. * At Morrinsville the voting was even more decisive in favour of Mr Allen. 45 votes being recorded, of which Mr Allen secured 44. ,
The result of the Poll is as follows : W. S. ALLEN ... 67 R. STABK 5
Majority for W. S. Allen .. 62.
