[Bt Drop-Kick.] Te Aroha v. Paeroa. The-To Aroha boys scored another victory on Saturday last, beating the Paeroa team after a well contested game by Gjpoints (2 t/ries)‘to ’nil. The match was played in Mr G. Lipsey’s paddock, which was kindly lent by that gentleman fob the purpose. The weather was dll that' could be desired, and the number of persons present to witness the game showed the interest taken in this kind of sport, quite a number of the fair sex putting in an appearance.; Both places put in the field a good team, and the game was a very even one, both' sides haying to work hard. The first spell ended with neither side scoring.- When the ball was again set rolling the blue and wbites seemed to rally, and after a good bit of passing, during which the ball went through some half-a-dozen hands, A. Lipsey made a dashing run and grounded the ball safely over the line, the shot at'goal proving a failure. The Paeroas now made very determined stand, and the ball was kept well in the centre of the field. A free kick was awarded to Te Aroha, right under the opponents goal, but the ball failed to rise, Paeroa, forcing. Shortly after the kick off, and just before the whistle went, J. The match between Karangahake and 'W’aihi, which took place at Waihi on Saturday last, resulted in a win for the former team by 3 points to nil. This places the Karangahake team ahead as far as the caps are concerned. The Te Aroha boys having played two matches with Karangahake, the first of which ended in a draw, the second in a win for Te AroKa. By this it will be seen that “ our boys ” are the best junior team under the O.R.U.

Arrangements are being made for a match to take place at Waihou on - Saturday next, 31st inst, between. Waiorongomai and Waihou (combined) and Te Aroha. This match is looked forward to with a great deal of interest, and a good game should he tbe result.

THAMES v WAIROA Thames, Saturday. The weather was beautifully fine for the above match which eventuated at Parawai this afternoon. There was *a good attendance of spectators and the very best of feeling prevailed. The pitch was in first-class condition for a good exposition of Rugby, and the game throughout was well contested, notwithstanding that the some fifteen defeated thpir visitors by 10 points to 3. The first try was obtained by Wilson, who rusliecL the ball accross the Wairoa goal line but was deliberately obstructed. Mr. P. AUCKLAND REPRESENTATIVES Dunedin Saturday The football match, Auckland v Otago, was played to-day on the Caledonian Ground in the presence of between 7000 and 8000 spectators. The morning was beautiful, but a shower fell about 1. 30 and it was threatening for some time, but it held up and the afternoon proved almost ideal football weather. The ground was in'splendid order. The game resulted in a win for Otago by 11 points to 8.
