About 30 couples were present, and notwithstanding the intense cold of the evening, say they enjoyed themselves immensely. The climate was not for ‘wallflowers,’ as none were seen decorating the room, and as all went in for dancing q lively evening was spent. Mbs Carron was by general consent considered the belle.
On Saturday evening the employees on the Matamata estate presented Mr and Mrs Kallander with a silver eellarette, and a set of silver salt cellers, j respectively, and Mr John Simpson | with gold pencil case and set of gold ' sleeve links.
