A meeting of milk suppliers to tlie Te Aroha West creamery was held on Monday morning to consider Messrs Reynolds and Co.’s terms for the coining season. Mr A J. farmer presided and Explained the object of the meeting. Messrs .Stanley and McKenzie, who were, the delegates to the general meeting' of ’suppliers in :Hamilton •recently, reported what had been done there! After considerable..discussion, in which nearly all present took part, it was decided that they would hot accept the "term's offered by Messrs Reynolds and Co. Mr Jas. Jackson was appointed a delegate to attend the meeting of suppliers at Ohaupo on Tuesday morning. It was also resolved that Mr Jackson was not to accept any terms which would give the suppliers less than 2|d per gallon for their phlk, The funeral f of the late Mr Joseph James, of Te Aroha West took place oh Sunday afternoon. The assemblage, of friends who attended'to pay the lasfe.tr jbute of respect to their departed neighbour was one of the largest for many years. The procession consisted of 12 vehicles and about 60 horsemen who went all-the way to" the ceinetry despite the heavy shower of rain which camß on before the cortege reached its destination. The ceremony at the grave was conducted by the Rev T. A. Joughin, who, in a few well-chosen words eulogised the Character of the departed, and advised albto heed: the Saviour’s exhortation’: Vr Be ye also ready, for in such an hour as ye think not the, Son of Man Cometh.” The funeral arrangements were in the hands of Mr Devey, ‘ and . were conducted with- due decorium. .

• A committee meeting of the Te Aroha Horticultural Society was held on Monday evening'. There was a fair' attendance of members present. 'Mr Strange presided. A large amount- of routine business with reference to the Art and Industrial Exhibition- was "transacted. The names of Messrs Clough, Bossons, Hawkins, J. Evans and Rev -Evans wCre added to the Committee. Resolved on the motion of Mr F. Strange,.- seconded by Mr Mclndoe,-. that ' Mrs 'Marsdoh; Misses. Gibbons, Gabolinscy, Roberts, Stevens, K. Johnson, Wild, Hot--chiri, iGoldsworthy, Beeson, Pavitt, Reynolds, Rowe, B. Lavery, and all Board and Sunday School teachers and clergy, with power to add to their number, be asked to act as a Working Committee 1 to assist and arrange matters in ' connection- with' the forthcoming Art and Industrial Exhibition. A unanimous vote Of thanks, was accorded to Mr B. Jackson for his timely .and. acceptable'gift, of, a secretaire to the Society. The next meeting'will be held 1 on the first Wednesday in September.,
