OHINEMURI COUNTY COUNCIL

The ordinary monthly meeting of the County Couneiljwas held on Thursday, when there were present : Messrs Barry (chairman), Bowler, McGruer, Nash, Thorpe and Edwards. Apologias were received for the absence of Messrs Cassrels, Nicholls, and Corbett. A considerable amount of routine business was transacted, and in the course of the proceedings the following tenders were received Tendera for the work : 200 yards metal, at foot of Thorp’s Hill, E. T, Bain, £77 10s; w. Hicks, £6l 13s 4d (accepted). Regarding the road leading up to the Waitekauri No. 4 mine, Waitekauri, it was decided that the Council expend tho sum of £25 in effecting repairs, ihe company have already spent £l2 on same road. The sum of £3 vras . passed for payment for repairs on the le Puke road. Regarding the Northern s.s. Company’s application to be allowed permission to erect sheds, it was pointed out that the Council had no power to accede to the request, but it was decided that if the Northern Company desire to proceed with the erection of the proposed sheds the county engineer would point out a site at the j unction upon which the' eompaagrmust not.build. It was agreed that the foreman- of works be empowered to keep the Karangahake Hill track'in repair.
