(Before H. Eyre Kenny, Esq.) Tub Warden’s Court was held at Te : Aroha oh Friday, the 28th inet, when the following business was despatched: G. 8. Graham applied for Waternace at Stoney Creek. Adjourned for pian. W. Burton applied for protection for -6 months, for New Find L.H., at Waiorosigbniai. . / .> c Mr Miller, who,appeared for the applicant, said the- claim formed part, with that was being offered to A Wealthy Byndieatd. Negotiations were in progress and the purchase was almost completed, but it would be some;: time before, the owners could Commence operations owing tp the delay ,of survey and other preliminary arrangements. If His Worship thought . 6 jhohths too long, the applicant (was’ prepared to take what -commended itselx to His Worship’s judgment. Mr H. J. Fleming stated the' property had been abandoned, and Mr Burton had Only recently obtained possession of it. The purchase of this claim, with, others, had been arranged, and £ICOQ deposit paid to show the boria fide* of the purchase,- Artriqb will be completed by the end of August. Any work which could be done at present would be valueless. The purchase included the battery, plant and water-race at Waiorongomai. The sydnicate intend working this* with;j other property,,po ft large ; ecalb, and the engineer of the Company is on his why here to report, and the protection is asked to give him time to lay off the various works about to be undertaken. The now’ -purohasers intend spending at least £50,000 on this and adjoining properties in the erection of suitable machinery and developing the ground The sale has been conducted through Mr E. J. Dunn, the English. mining expert.’ - . - \ His Worship, commenting on the application, saidjt .was useless making two bites at'a cherry, and he Was of the opinion that the six months . protection asked for was hot too long. In granting the application His Worship expressed the hope-that when these large works were Started it would give An impetus to mining,; and make , a difference to this district.

Fleming said thd claim, contained 60 acres of old workings, portions of this ground have been taken up and worked again and again and gi von up. It required a large amount of capital to work the ground which they have every; prospect of obtaining through the agency of Mr B J. Dunn. O wing to the nature of the ground to be worked a small area Would bo useless. The Waiorongomai bktteiy and. plant Are connected with the* scheme of working. The idea istopul in a low level tunnel in the Septre and through the Septre] Extended; The tunnol proposed to be put in will be upwar- s of \\ miles in length. His Worship said he would receive the evidence and so save time and-expense to Messrs Miller ' and Fleming in re-appearing. When the plans were, ready At the next court, it wonld.be granted. \ ; j. Miffa v; J. 'McOosh Clark, and others, plaint for forfeiture of the Wareheko L.H. on Account of honworking and non-payment of rent. The complainant asked to be adj udged the first applicant and given possession. Granted. J. H. Fleming applied for Monarch S.O, Withdrawn;". Mr Fleming applied for - Monarch Extended.
