ADMIRAL BRIDGE’S OPINION Sydney, April 29. Admiral Bridge in the course of an. interview made reference to the defences of new Zealand. He said though many of the forts'had complicated mountings, they were wonderfully well kept, indeed were as well looked after as on board the%arships. The same remark applied to the Victorian defence. With regard to submarine mining defeuces apart from any view he might hold as to its utility or otherwise he was . impressed with the admirable way in which the defence materials in Auckland was kept, and with the zeal and knowledge of the men in charge,
