THE CYANIDE PROCESS
On Monday Mr Greenway, the New Zealaud agent for the Oassels Gold Extraction Company, received the following cable message iu reference to the case recently decided in the Court of Appeal : Patent defective. Have been notified eau care by amending specification. Judgment has been given for us in all other respects.” The moaning of this would seem to be that although the Cassels Convpany have ■ lost the case, and will have to pay the costs, they may be able to establish their position by amending the specifications of their patent. One clause in the patent law is as follows :—“-In an action for. infringement of a patent, and , in a proceeding for revocation of a patent, the Court or a judge may at any time order that the patentee shall, subject to such* terms as to costs and otherwise as the Court or a judge may impose, be at liberty to apply at the Patent Office for leave to amend his specification by way of disclaimer, and may direct that in the meantime the trial or hearing of the action shall be postponed.” ■ -.; • ' . . .
