TE AROHA HOT SPRINGS DOMAIN BOARD.

The ordinary monthly meeting of the Te Aroha Hot Springs Domain Board was held in the Domain Buildings on Saturday last, the 6th inst. Present : Messrs Gavin (in tho chair), Hotchin, Hetherington and Bradley. The minutes of previous meeting were read and eomfirmed. ' Correspondence was read and attended to. N.Z. Handbook. — The Chairman reported that a description of Te Aroha was being written for insertion. Prom C- P. Spooner re. guide books, asking that tho Board reconsider their decision. Resolved that the consideration of the matter be deferred till next meeting. Prom P. Wild, Secretary Horticultural .Society, asking for use of room for Committee meetings of the Society.' Mr Gavin was of the opinion that if this request was granted other bodies would expect the same priviledge, and there would be*no end of similar applications. It was resolved on the motion of Mr Gavin, seconded by Mr. Bradley, that the Board cannot see its way to grant the application. Mr Stanley wrote asking for a weeks leave of absence, which was granted. It was also decided that the caretakers should have one week holiday in each year, chairman to arrange. Children in Reading-Room. —Mr Bradley drew attention to the fact that children were a nuisance in the reading room during the evenings, and moved that all children under 15 years of age be kept out of the Read-ing-room after sun down, unless in charge of parents. This was seconded and carried.

In passing the accounts it transpired that Mr Hotchin had spent more money than had been granted by the Board.

Mr Gavin, chairman, informed Mr Hotchin that he had no right to take upon himself to spend so much money. This had all been done without consulting him, the accounts this month for work done were much to heavy, and it was not right and must be stopped. Mr Hotchin replied he had don© a lot of work and was willing, to take the blame, • Financial Statement, for month ending April 6th. —Eeceipts—Sale of tickets, £56 18s lOd ; towels, £5 2s 6d; library, 15s; tennis, 11s; Government grant, £3B. Total £lOl 7s 4d. Expenditure—£4B 16s lOd. Present overdraft at bank, £B6 13s Bd. The following accounts wore passed for payment. Wallace, £2 6s 9d; McNicol, £3 Is lid ; Balcke, £1 9s 6d; Dibs ell’, 15s; Bain, £3 3s 6d; Laybourn, £2 2s 7d ; Mclndoe, £2 15s 9d; Williams, 13s 6d ; Simpson, £1 8s 5d ; Currie, £3 12s; Hobson, 5s 3d; Donally, 14s ; Caretakers and Clark, £23 10s ; Lavery, L 3 lie sd.
