HOT SPRINGS DOMAIN BOARD.

MONTHLY MEETING. The ordinary monthly meeting of the above Board was held in their office in the Domain, grounds on Saturday evening last, the 2nd inst. Present: MessrsT. Gavin (chairman), T. Bradley, M. Hotchin and W. Hetherington. The minutes of last monthly meeting were read and confirmed. The inward and outward correspondence was also read. A letter was read from the Department of Lands and Surveys, with reference to the £3B applied for by the Board, being cost of furnishing new offices. It was decided to fill in the form forwarded by the Department, and make the application in the way suggested. Swimming Bath. —From the Secretary of the Te Aroha Goldfield School Committee, making application for the free use of the swimming bath for the school children, so that they may be taught the art of swimming. The time asked for by the Committee was on Monday afternoon, between the hours of 2.30 and 4.30 o’clock.-It was resolved on the motion of Mr Hetherington, secondedbyMr Bradley, that the request be granted. Chair por Baths. -A short discussion took place relative to having an invalids chair swung in No. 2 bath, whereby cripples could be lowered into the bath.—Resolved that the work of erecting the chair be left in the hands of the Chairman to have carried out.

Lamp. —The Chairman thought it would be advisable to have a lamp erected over the gate in front of the office, and moved that the same fixed. Mr Bradley seconded the motion which was carried. Guide Book.-— lt was resolved on the motion of Mr Hetherington, seconded by Mr Hotchin, that the order for the Guide Books be countermanded. Library and Reading Room. —The Chairman stated that a number of residents and visitors had mentioned to him the necessity of having the library and reading room open on Sunday.—lt was resolved to accede to the request.

Monthly Satement.— The statement for the month ending March 2nd was read as follows : —Receipts.—Sale of tickets, £44 18s 4d; towels, £3 2s ; tennis, 10s; library, 15s; mineral water, £5 8s; sale of house, £7 12s 6d; Government, £62.

Expenditure.—Overdraft at Bank, £lO7 10s sd; caretakors and clerk’s salaries, £lB 8s; Wilson & Co., £2 0$ 6d; Robson, Is 6d ;J. B. Johnson, 19s 6d; Lay bourn, £1 7s 4d; Macnicol, £1 9s 6d; Sitnpson, 14s l ljd. The accounts, as read, were passed for payment. The meeting then closed.
