RIFLE MATCH.
Thames Navals v. Te Aeoha ' :J A match between the above teams was fired on the local range on Satur ay last. The ranges were 200, an 500 yards, seven shots at each Snider rifles. The day was good one for shooting, with jthe exception of the light being rather variable at the long ranged The result was a decisive victory for the home team, thoy managing to secure a lead from the start, and at the end of the contest were 95 points ahead. Appended are the scores Te Aroha Rifles.'

Majority for Te Aroha Rifles 95. In the evening the visitors were entertained by the local corps at a banquet in the Palace Hotel ; there were some 35 present. The "usual toasts were given and responded to : * ‘The Queen ” and “ The Visiting' Team,” by Captain' Cochrane; “The Te Aroha team,” by Lieutenant Radford; The Scorers and Markers ” and “ The Highest Scorers,” by Lieiltenant Wild; “ The Highest Scorer4sjthe Visiting team,” by hon Chaplain Evans; “jOur Chaplain,” by Volunteer Hanby ; “Host and Hostess,” oy Chaplain Evans. The toasts were Received with the greatest and drunk with musical honours, r Songs, etc., wore rendered by members of both companys, and altogether a most enjoyable evening was sjjieht.
