Caterpillars troublesome in the Ohinemuri district. Yesterday was observed a close holiday in Te Aroha. About 200 excursionists visited Te Aroha yesterday. > , Ratepayers in the Piako County and the Waitoaßoad Board are reminded .that 10 per cent, will be added to all overdue rates after Thursday, the 30th inst. A son of Mr J. B. Taylor, a farmer, at the Tables, aged 2% years, was drowned on Friday by falling into a well.' ! * • Mr J. O Fairfax, of the Sydney MorninoHerald, who is accompanied by Mrs Fail” fax, arrived by the Mafiposa front Sydney and intend making a tour of. the Hot Lakes district, and the South Island. A man named* Richard ; Flutey was drowned in the Tiraumei River on Friday. He-shot a duck and fell in the water trying j to recover it. He could not swim The bcdy has been recovered.
