In regard to Peter Osbeck’s death, it appears Corrigan worked the grey later than usual on account of the heavy mist prevailing early in the morning, bub after breakfast he galloped as well as usual. After pulling up, however, it was noticed that something serious had happened, and Peter Osbeck, who burst a blood vessel, died almost immediately. Mr W. Allan, who made the post-mortem examination on Peter Osbeck, states that the old gelding had a wonderfully large heart, and the internal organs were healthy. The cause of death was found to bo a rupture of the large aneurism of the lungs, the hemorrhage from which of course suffocated the horse. Peter Osbeck was owned by Mr T Haydon.
