A tramway is being laid down in one of the surface levels of the Kenilworth which .will have to be extended a distance qf nearly 200 feet before putting the reef. Woodstock United : The contractors have extended the new orosf-ent a distance of 50 feet. The ground is fairly good for working, but very wet. Moore's Tribute (Kenilworth Section): Some weeks ago this party forwarded a parcel of 40 tons rich ore to the Woodstock stone-bieaker for sampling and assaying. but onlv a small portion lias been put thro'-gli as yet, tjn remainder will he treated as soon as it can be got dry enough; Meanwhile work is proceeding as usual in the mine where good payable ore is beiqg bpoken out daily. Now that the drying furnace has been added to the plant there will be no ipore delays waiting for supplies of grinding stuff. Off Saturday last a ton of Puhipuhi ore was fu f through the Lnmherton mill and haff led qver to the Oassel Gold Extracting Company for treatment. The stone does not look up to much bqt it is said to he worth L 9 per ton. In the mine (on the new peef) things are getting Ship shape. Mr McGruer, the mine manager, informs me that he will he able to keep the Battery going qn goq l payable ore from ’t alone, sq, to overtake the work another mill would require tq lie added to the plant. The reef (s'> far as has been driven qpqn) maintains its size an l quality.
