Madame Patti’s Earnings and Presents.
It is too early to say that Mdme. Patti will not return to America at the close of the year. Messrs Abbey and Grau realised a largo sura from the last tour, and are anxious to undertake the direction of another. Patti herself drew, as her share of the forty-three concerts, £32,000. The representation of ‘ Lakine ’ at Boston produced upwards of £4,000, and ‘ Traviata ’ at New York more than £3,000. Besides her earnings in solid cash, Mdme. Patti returned loaded with presents, among them a gold crown, and earrings in rubies and diamonds, the gift of President Diaz, of Mexico, and his wife. Mdtre. Patti has arranged to sing in London on May 14th and 31st, and on June 14th and 28th. Later in the season she is under contract with Mr Harrison, of Birmingham, to sing in the provinces between October 10thand November 19th at £BOO per night.
