SPIELERS IN BRISBANE.
BLOCKADED IN A HOTEL. Brisbane, J une 30. ,N consequence of a gambling row, a fight ook place in the streets of Rockhampton. The combatants were some eighteen spielers and their victims. The blacklegs were getting the worst of the tight, and so took refuge in a hotel, which the mob blockaded for twenty-four hours Things were looking very black for the spielers, when with the greatest difficulty the police forced an entrance through the mob, and escorting the sharpers down the wharf placed them on an outwardbound steamer. The discomfited spielers were in the last stage of terror at the menaces of the mob and clung to the police in abject fashion. The. mob was most indignant and the die.turbanqee were great,
