In connection with the New Plymouth murder, the jury were locked up all night, and at ten o’clock this morning the foreman said they were still unable to bring in any other verdict than one that deceased was wilfully murdered, and that suspicion rested on the accused. The Coroner said lie must record that as an open verdict. The foreman protested against the verdict being taken as an open one. At two o'clock this afternoon as the jury could not agree they were released, without finding a verdict, hut were hound over to attend the Supreme Court at the next criminal sittings. ■*
