TROUBLE AT NAPIER. Napieii, May 30. The last few days a difficulty has been brewing at the port among the lumpers. The shipping agents have been paying Is 6d per hour for work on the wharves, while the rate of pay fixed by the Union is only Is 3d, and this is all they have paid for the work in the roadstead. The shipping agents now want to reduce the wharf labour to the Union scale, and the men threaten to strike.
