At times a sadder touch evokes A wiulihg, minor strain,' : "Whose every'note is but the voice Of human grief and paird |S( metimes, alas, from iVntuned hearts No harmony wo'hehvj*" ! ' Put oAiy discords loud and harsh * Break on the tortured fear 1 , ■ • l I > •I ■ I •'.! •< . When sin’s dark fipgers sweep the strings That lie in passion’s range \ Wliiit \v6ncfer that they* only speak In discords wild and strange { " Wlmt wonder if their hearts should lose The power to thrill again—pave ’neath sin’s Cruel; crushing hands—• Or sojihd a gentle strain ! ~ ‘ pan unison of human hearts E’Cr fin’d the maSter-key ; Restore the broken, tuneless strings ‘ Again to lmrmomy?
