Mr Liihonchere, referring to some papers ■which have been attacking Truth, says : *• I have now been for some little time connected with journalism, and am beginning to know a good many of the tricks of the trade. One of the latest of them is for a paper feebly- struggling for existence to lavish abuse on some more prosperous competitor, in the hope of gaining a gratuitous advertisement by provoking a reply. This has often been tried upon me, but I have never been caught, and I am beginning to hope I never shall be.”
