In our last Wednesday's issue 'we pubished a report of the proceedings at the monthly meeting of Ohinemuri County Council on Saturday, 10th inst. We also in a leading article referred at length to the very arbitrary and extraordinary manner in which the Government have acted towards the Council, re the £IOOO advanced them to enable the Council to meet the first instalment of the Auditors’ award in favour of Thames County Council, when ‘separation’ was obtained. We now publish in detail • the communication received from Government by the Council respecting this matter, and referred to in ouriepmtin Wednesday’s issue. .The Treasury, New Zealand, Wellington, 3rd May, 1800.
