May 12.
Blanche. —In this mine work has been confined in clearing out the triangle drive to get under the winze, where 71b of picked stone was obtained in last breaking down. This having now been completed and a survey made, will enable them to rise on the reef. This will open up a block ol good payable ground, besides giving access to test several nice-looking leaders running across this drive. There is a leader 15 1 inches thick known as the Shamrock Reef, running through a splendid class of country, being worked in the early days. This reel should, if worked upon, prove a valuable addition to the mine, being all intact from this to the creek level. This will also give the same chance of proving all the othei leaders, which from this level down is all intact and in splendid country. Trenton. —The manager telegraphed this morning: “55ozs retorted gold from 75 loads of quartz, and 201bs picked stone.” A further telegram stated that 41bs of good picked stone were obtained from the hang-ing-wall lode east.
