MATAMATA ROAD BOARD.
[From our own Correspondent.] Thk annual meeting of the Matamata Road Board was held in the building at the Matamata Railway Station, on Wednesday, 7th.hist. Present: Messrs N, I. Hunt (Cliai. man), D.Scelly, and J, McDonald, Mr T. G. Sandes, Engineer to the Board was also present. Minutes of tlm previous meeting were read and confirmed. Correspondencet Tho following correspondence was read ; From Mr G. Walker, claiming Ll 6 2s, as compensation for damage done by flood. Resolved that consideration of the letter be held over till next meeting. From Mr Murphy, claiming L2O for ‘extras’ done on the Liehfield-Te Aioha road. After some discussion the Chairman moved that this letter be also held over, pending a written report being received from the Engineer with respeet thereto. - The Engineer in his report regarding the bridges in the course of construction on the Lichfield-Te Aroha road, stated he had found it necessary to raise them both from three to four feet, and to also enlarge one of them on account of the recent flood. On the motion of the Chairman the report was adopted. Resolved on the motion of the Chairman, that the Working Committee be instructed to have whatever work was necessary carried out on the M itamataWaharoa road, in order to put it in a thorough state of repair.
