The output from the Broken Hill field has aiivady readied 1000 tons of bullion, containing 200,0000zs silver per week. •The smelting returnsofthe Broken Ilill Proprietary mine for week ending 4th inst. were: —3093 tons ore treated, yielding 003 tons of bullion, containing 142,7930zs silver. The total value of the mineral exports for (be week ending April 4tli from Broken Hill, amounted to ii44,G44. This is the highest aggregate of ipineial exports on record, and promises to be fully maintained in th« future. Tbe gross output of the Broken Hill Proprietary mine up to March 27th, 1899, was 15,487.6920zs silver, or equal to 479 tons of silver, calculating a ton of silver at 32,6G60z5, and G 3,405 tons of lead. The average per ton of ore treated was 44.570zs of silver and 18.27 per cent of lead. Taking the silver at 3 s 8d per ounce fine, the silver raised was valued at nbuit L 2,841,000, while the lead at LI2 per ton had realised L7G8,000, making the tptal gro-8 value of the bullion turned <>ut by the company up to March 27th, 1890, L3,ti59,000.
